31) "The Mid-Morning Recording"          New Order-'Singles'
Orlando and I would have to say that this is one of the bands that certainly influenced our love of British indie-pop. When we were putting this show together to honor Tony Wilson, we thought it best to play as much New Order as we possibly could. So, we took a look at their back catalog, and there were several albums that immediately jumped out. In the end we thought that it would be best to play their 2005 career-spanning singles compilation. This is mainly because New Order made so many good songs that we couldn't pick one album that fully represented their years at Factory. Even this compilation takes up two CD's and almost two and one-half hours to cut the surface of this great band. If anything good comes from the death of Tony Wilson, maybe this influential band will keep it going with more great music in honor of him and his love of Manchester. Even if they don't continue on, we will always have their great albums and some of the best indie songs ever created to look back on. Tonight we play thirty-one of these songs, many of which were indeed brought to light by one Mr. Tony Wilson. Thank you Tony for knowing good music when you heard it.
