31) "The Mid-Morning Recording" Fleetwood
Mac-'English Rose'
Tonight's album is a great compilation of early
blues period Fleetwood Mac originally released in 1969 on Epic. Peter
Green, Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer and the rhythm section of Mick and
John; how can you go wrong? This compilation features some of my favorite
all-time Fleetwood Mac recordings including the original version of
"Black Magic Woman", way before Santana made it popular. Danny
Kirwan greats, "Something Inside of Me", and "One Sunny
Day" are also terrific album cuts featured on this recording. This
album was picked by our guest host, Steve Cushing, as it was the album
that led him to the blues. My favorite Mac composition "Albatross"
is the particular song that led him to buy this album back in the late
60's'. I'm always happy to listen to Steve's long-running program "Blues
Before Sunrise", and I'm happy to hear "Albatross" end
his program every week. I asked Steve Cushing to be apart of this show
because of the Mac's 40th anniversary celebrated this month, and I'm
happy that he accepted. We both had a great time putting this show together,
and we hope you have as much fun listening to it. "Help me baby,
help me take my blues away."
Michael - MFL
32) James-"Sayonara" From the CD 'Wah-Wah'.
