30) "The Mid-Morning Recording" T-Bone Burnett-'The Criminal Under My Own Hat'
Another great artist that film director Wim Wenders exposed me to way back in the early 90's. Even though I prefer the version of "Humans from Earth" on the famed "Until the End of the World" soundtrack, I still think this album is Mr. Burnett's best solo work to date. It's at least the album from him that I listened to the most. A little later after finding this album, I discovered his then wife, Sam Phillips and her album 'Bikinis and Martinis'. This became the first in a long line of albums that was overseen by the hand of T-Bone Burnett. Of course he would go on to win Grammys with his soundtrack productions, and that work is amazing; but I always go back to this album if I want to hear his own compositions. A little folk, a little country, a little blues, a whole lotta shake, rattlin', and rollin'. An album full of talent! "Here's a little thing that we call TV, do you have any electricity? We're humans from Earth, we're humans from Earth. You have nothing at all to fear, I think we're gonna like it here."
