32) "The Mid-Morning Recording"    The Orb-'Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld (Patterns and Textures Version)'
Being that we've already played the debut album from the Orb as an MMR; a long while back. I thought to mark the actual 20th anniversary of the release of 'The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld' with another MMR, but what should I play in its place. I narrowed it down pretty quickly to the two "other" versions of the debut Orb release. This "Patterns and Textures" version or the ultra-rare remixed album of "Ultraworld Excursions". I decided to go with the former, and save the Auntie Aubrey mixes for a future date. Tonight's MMR is basically a live recording from the Brixton Fridge recorded on May 12, 1991. It forms the soundtrack to the video version of the album, "Pattern and Textures" and it was released in mid-1992. The first copies of the video came with a promo CD featuring the soundtrack to the video, and this CD is tonight's "Mid-Morning Recording". It's also rare because it features Kris "Thrash" Weston making a live appearance, along with Steve Hillage throwing down some live guitar. Of course LX Paterson throws down some samples and such, and DJ Lewis is the DJ. So, in honor once again of the anniversary of "The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld", released on this very date 20 years ago, here is the lovely "live" version of that debut release. Maybe you have the video to sync up with the music. "An Orb is not just for Christmas, it's for life."
