Now considered by many to be an Ambient masterpiece. I first listened to this album over 20 years ago when my friend Ross first played it for me, and I was instanly drawn in to it. I had other friends that also enjoyed the soundtrack, so it kept coming up over the years. I finally did see parts of the movie on TV one night, and found it to be quite depressing. About a month ago, I stumbled upon a vinyl copy of the album, and was reminded of its beauty. I think it's interesting that David Bowie stars in the film, but isn't on the soundtrack; which has to be an obvious conscious decision by either Bowie himself, Sakamoto, or the director Nagisa Oshima. One thing I forgot to mention during the broadcast is the wonderful vocal performance of "Forbidden Colours" by David Sylvian. I've always really dug his voice, and it takes the original theme of the movie to an even higher level. "My love wears forbidden colours" - Michael MFL
