27) "The Mid-Morning Recording"          Silence (Pete Namlook and Dr. Atmo)-'Silence II' (Complete Version)
It has been a few years now since the passing of the prolific and talented music composer Pete Namlook. The work he left behind is amazing, and there is a lot of it. Every now and then I have to turn to Namlook for the deep chill ambient. The last FAX album we played was the first volume of work under the name "Silence". I listened to the original pressing of the album this week and I decided to play it for this week's MMR. I really like the unedited version of the piece "Heaven" found on the original pressing, and I love the song they added to the re-releases of the album called "What is Life?". So I decided to so something I rarely do, and that is edit the piece "What is Life" into the original pressing and play a "complete version" of the album. It clocks in at about 90 minutes with all the pieces unedited. I may even like Silence II more than any other album in the series of five. Even though we've played what I would say are the two best albums in the series of releases, Silence II won't be the last one we play. One of the best ambient composers of all time, and he is deeply missed by the people that knew his work. "What is life? What is death? Silence....."
