31) "The Mid-Morning Recording"           Talking Heads-'Remain In Light'
Of course they are one of the most influential American bands ever.  I've always had a love of the band since their version of "Take Me To the River" was on FM radio, but as the years go on and I see more live footage, and hear their studio albums with a more adult ear, it's hard to criticize anything they put to record.  It all sounds like it is way ahead of its time; some of it even ahead of the present time.  Like a lot of people growing up in the 70's and early 80's, this release was the first major mainstream breakthrough for the group.  The video for "Once In A Lifetime" on early MTV is etched into the pop culture of that time, and truly gave Talking Heads the visual representation they would also be known for.  It would be a few years afterwards when the soundtrack for "Stop Making Sense" was released that I truly became a fan. Now with a more adult ear, I can see, and mostly hear that they were much much more than the visual representation melded with the music.  The music more and more stands on its own.  Every now and then, I'm surprised when I haven't played a certain album beforehand, and this is one of them yet again.  "Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down." - Michael MFL
32) James-"Sayonara"  From the album 'Wah-Wah'.
