In honor of the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd, MFL is playing a Pink Floyd MMR all month, and since the Floyd's first single "Arnold Layne" was released 50 years ago on this day, I figured we should go back to the start. In 1992, to celebrate their 25th anniversary, Pink Floyd released the "Shine On" box set featuring some of their more prominent albums remastered to compact disc. Also included in the set was a disc compiling their first five singles. At the time, some of these songs had never before released on CD, so many fans bought the set mainly to have this one disc of rarities. All these songs have since been released on many different compilations to date, but this disc still remains special as the only CD to feature all five of their first singles, along with their b-sides.
