29) "The Mid-Morning Recording"           'Shock Treatment'-"Original Soundtrack
This week on a Facebook comment, my friend Ross quoted "Little Black Dress" from the film soundtrack of "Shock Treatment", and I went to my collection and listened to the album a couple of times since. I was a bit surprised that I hadn't played the soundtrack to the sequel 'of sorts' to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" as a "Mid-Morning Recording". We did play the "Rocky Horror" film soundtrack only about five years ago, so it seemed like a good time to play this catchy album from the pen of Richard O'Brien and Richard Hartley. In some ways I can listen to this soundtrack even more than "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" soundtrack, as I've heard it a lot less to date. This soundtrack is fun, and way before its time. The film and its music satirize reality TV more than a decade before that would become the "new" normal of TV broadcasts. With the current administration in the White House, it seems to satirize that type of corruption through TV as well. Conservatives longing for the "good ol' days", while corrupting a new generation of greedy citizens. Game shows and reality shows are the norm in "Denton, U.S.A.", just as they are now the real U.S. of A. Another album from the great year of 1981. A brillant soundtrack! "Oh why don't they do the tomorrow's new dance steps, the way they used to yesterday?" - Michael - MFL
30) James-"Sayonara"  From the album 'Wah-Wah'.
