29) "The Mid-Morning Recording"        Kate Bush-'The Director's Cut'
I'm looking forward to autumn. This has been a brutal summer for us here in South Texas. I usually associate Kate's music with cooler weather, and maybe I'm looking forward to cooler weather so much, that I started listening to Kate a little more this past week. One album I haven't heard too too much from her is this one. A revisit and recording of some tracks from the album's 'The Sensual World', and 'The Red Shoes'. It took me a while to get used to these versions of the songs, but as time goes on, I'm taking a liking to them more and more. I particularly like the version of "Top of the City", which is pretty much a studio take on the version that would later appear on her live album 'Before the Dawn'. Also, there are a few artists making re-recordings of past work. A new interpretation of classics. This wasn't the first album to do this, but Kate was on to something with this release. I'm sure there are things that some artists would change if they could, but Kate went ahead and did that. It doesn't replace the originals, but the opportunity does offer a glimpse of how an artists would reinterpret their own work later in life. "Take it up to the top of the city." - Michael - MFL
30) James-"Sayonara" From the album 'Wah-Wah'.
