So very sad that I never saw The Beta Band live. I tried. They didn't get their visas in time to make the first date of the tour opening for Radiohead. The only show on the tour they missed. I was there to see Beta Band even a slight bit more than Radiohead honestly. Again, very sad as they band broke up a few years later, and I never got to see them. Steve Mason has one of my favorite voices on the planet, so I hope to see him play live someday in person. A few weeks ago, I decided to run down the rabbit hole of filmed live performances from the band, and I came across their 2005 "best of" compilation, which I didn't know had a second disc of live music recorded at Shepherds Bush Empire. I do believe it was their last ever live date. So, tonight I thought to play this recording, since I've been enjoying some live music from the group. All my favorites are here. A great setlist.
