30) "The Mid-Morning Recording" Poster Children-'Grand Bargain'
I can't believe it's already been six years since the release of this album, and that it's been that long since I've seen them live. It seems this was the final recordings by Poster Children engineered by the late Steve Albini, who passed away earlier this year. It was his name that brought me to their music originally, on the release of their second album in 1991. This 2018 release reflects a lot of the mindset of the country during the years of 2016 and 2017. The title track is certainly one of the most political of the band's career, and that is really saying something. They have always been political. There was most certainly reasons to be angry in 2017. I picked this album because I wanted to play something a little more political here on the weekend before Election Day 2024. As I write this, the outcome is not certain. "Kleptocracy. Rule by thieves, to use the mechanism of government to enrich oneself, at the expense of the greater good. GRAND BARGAIN!!!"
31) James-"Sayonara" From the album 'Wah-Wah'.
