29) "The Mid-Morning Recording" Palomar-'All Things, Forest'
In March of 2007, I finally saw Palomar in concert. I saw them twice in three days at SXSW 2007, and it was worth the wait. I've been a big fan of their catchy pop ditties since I heard their third album 'The Revenge of Palomar'. Rachel Warren, Christina Prostano, Sarah Brockett, and Dale W. Miller make up this pop band from Brooklyn, New York. For those of you who haven't heard their music, then atmospheric hooks are in tall order for you here. This album has so many good darker atmospheric sounds meshed with female pop harmonies. A little bit on the sad side, but heavenly. Every song is strong here, and every song could be heard on the radio, and now they have been by you. "Woah!" and "Bridge of Sighs" are two of my favorites from Palomar, and so I'm glad they decided to include these tracks re-recorded from their 2005 'Palomar 3.5 E.P'. I can't wait to see them again, and I can't wait to get a live recording of them too. Apparently, every time they play live something unexpected happens. At the SXSW showcase, their guitarist Christina walked off the stage and danced with me in the audience. Someone got a picture of us, but I don't know who. I wish I had pictures of this great show. Again...worth the wait.
