20) "The Mid-Morning Recording" Jeremy Warmsley-'The Art of
Fiction'
Every now and then Orlando and I come across an
artist that is not only a great singer and songwriter, but also a really
fine fellow to have a chat with. During SXSW 2007 we were lucky enough
to not only sit and talk with Mr. Warmsley, but we also were lucky enough
to witness his first and second concerts performed in America. (You
are lucky as well, because we recorded the second of these sets to play
on a future show.) Like many of the albums we play on this part of the
show, this one is strong from top to bottom. We played all of the singles
from this album before it was released, and have played almost all these
songs seperately. Rykodisc liked this CD so much that they released
it in America only six months after its release in the UK. Already turning
heads all over the world, as he should be. This artist certainly defines
one of the reasons why Orlando and I like putting together this show;
we just love sharing music that EVERYONE should hear, but for some unknown
reason the world has yet to find it. Mark my words, somehow, someday,
some film director will get him to compose a motion picture soundtrack
and you will be finding his music in every CD player in America. So,
you are smart by reading this playlist, you should have listened to
this show, and you already know about his amazing storytelling and melodics
hooks. For obvious copyright reasons we cannot play the entire album
on the encore MP3 stream. It was quite hard for me to pick off tracks
for the web stream. "Rest your head on my shoulders when the soldiers
come for us"
