24) "The Mid-Morning Recording" The
Simpsons-'Songs In the Key of Springfield'
Yesterday, I saw "The Simpsons Movie" along with a lot of other
happy people. I would say that I quite liked it, and it was really nice
to see Matt having a lot of fun with his first TV baby in the cinema format.
It was almost surreal to witness it, to be honest. "Holy crap...there
is a Simpsons movie?...and I lived to see it...and it's STILL on TV....weird!!!"
After the viewing, I was conversing with someone and they told me that
"The Simpsons" was the only show in their household they could
NOT watch. I was baffled by this to a certain extent. I wouldn't like
the idea of living my adult years without this animation juggernaut making
me truly laugh out loud. The characters are engraved into my mind, and
boy do they make me smile. They are certainly legendary cartoon characters
and they have stood the test of time. It was great to see a well executed
storyline, good writing, and damn fine 2D/3D animation in the first long
form outing. The movie has some good music bits as well, but not too much.
I was happy with the sublime use of music, unlike most animated movies
that seem to live by them. So, in honor of "The Simpsons" movie
seeing its release yesterday, we play this, the second Simpsons album;
a wonderful musical album from a TV series that knew exactly when to put
in a funny but worthwhile tune. This happens to be our first comedy Mid-Morning
Recording as well.
"da da da da da da da da dadada".
Michael - MFL

BONUS TRACK
26) The Scarecrow Frequency-"1963" From the brand new CD 'Somber
