28) "The Mid-Morning Recording" The
Kinks-'Something Else by The Kinks (Deluxe Re-Issue)'
Lately, I've wanted to play another great
album from the 60's, and I found it hard to believe that I haven't played
a Kinks album before. After I thought about it a little bit, I would
have to say that in all of the glorious work this band has recorded,
this could be their masterpiece. It's my favorite of all their albums,
and they obviously have a stunning back-catalogue. The album ends with
the masterpiece "Waterloo Sunset". It could be my favorite
track by them, and according to the Wikipedia entry about the song,
it's Paul Weller and Damon Albarn's all-time favorite song. Pick a song,
any song, and one can't be disappointed. Another great album in the
long list of albums released in 1967. This mid-morning I play this classic
album in honor of my friend Kevin. Out of all the big Kinks fans that
I know, he could be the biggest. I hope you enjoyed this album as much
as he does. "I'm in paradise, Waterloo sunset's fine"
