33) "The Mid-Morning Recording"                  James-'Gold Mother' (Original UK Edition)
It's been six years since we've played an album by the great Manchester band, and looking at their catalog, there isn't too much more to play from the band as a "Mid-Morning Recording". That is definitely the case after this album is broadcast. This was the first album that introduced me to the band way back in the early 90's. By then, James was already Morrissey's favorite band. Gold Mother is not my favorite album from them, but it is still an incredibly strong album. Another album that should have been played already, certainly being that we play a song by the band James every week. (We always leave you "with the James".) I'm happy to say that not only did I see James in concert three times in the 90's, but I met each and every member of the band during the course of those three shows. I love this band so much that I was planning on taking a trip to England to see their last show in 1999. I did not make it, but luckily, it was not to be their last show. They even just toured the U.S. once again, but sadly didn't come close to Texas. One of the best live bands out there, and certainly worthy of the high praise that was never really given to them. (This band is so much more than the song "Laid".) So....once again, we leave you with the James and we are out of here. (This album, especially the song, "How Was It For You?" is dedicated to all the Indievision crew....you know who you are.) "Don't let go on top of the world"
