33) "The Mid-Morning Recording"              The Dukes Of Stratosphear-'Chips From The Chocolate Fireball'
A compliation of almost all of the work done by the band XTC with this pseudonym. I've always thought of it as more of "The Beatles meets early Pink Floyd" side of the group as it were. As with XTC's first releases during the 70's, these tracks are produced by the great John Leckie, (also under a pseudonym), but performed by "The Dukes". A trippy manifestation indeed. It's very different, and the musc is really out there, (even for a fan of 60's psychedelia). However, the project of "XTC" got to let go a little, and they produced even more focused work after the music on this compilation was originally released. This one is going out to the Mayor of Music Town who enjoys this album more than anyone I know, maybe even me. Don't get me wrong, I love this body of work, but I love XTC's work even more. "Lots of room for everyone on a bike ride to the moon"
