32) "The Mid-Morning Recording" The Charlatans-'20th Anniversary 'Some Friendly' Concerts - Live at the London Roundhouse May 31, 2010'
A few weeks ago we played 'Us and Us Only' by The Charlatans in tribute to their drummer Jon Brookes and his untimely passing. Last night over in London a tribute concert was held at Royal Albert Hall for Jon. The Charlatans played with Liam Gallagher and his band Beady Eye. Also Stephen and Gillian from New Order and members of Mumford and Sons, Manic Street Preachers, and the band Dumb who Jon managed, all gathered on one stage in honor of their friend. I only met Jon very briefly at SXSW a few years back, but since Orlando and I first bonded because we knew how good The Charlatans were then and still are today, we were quite saddened by loss of such a great musician. We also found out during SXSW this year that the band The Ghosts wouldn't even be around without the help of Jon. He touched so many people with his warmth and talent. His playing along with Martin Blunt on bass seriously influenced me on what an amazing rhythem section should sound like. So many people came together and put on a truly great concert last night so we wanted to play something special as to mark the evening. Jon was truly one of the greats, and he will be missed. Tonight we present a live offering from the Charlatans from 2010 on their 20th Anniversary 'Some Friendly' concerts. They recorded three of the four shows apparently and recently Orlando bought the London Roundhouse show. One of the last live recordings with Jon as their drummer. We hoped it may have made some new fans of the band. "Over rising, washing me down again." - Michael MFL
33) James-"Sayonara"  From the CD 'Wah-Wah'.
