They haven't released a studio album now in over 20 years, but I still have to say that Pink Floyd is still my favorite all-time band. Ever since I was young I listened to their popular releases, but in my teens and 20's, I found the rest of it. Back when I first found this album, I wasn't too impressed. What I didn't understand at the time was the process of experimentation in music. I didn't understand that this album was their first complete album without Syd Barrett. I didn't understand that this was the band's first try at producing their own music. It was merely passed off as a "soundtrack". As the years rolled on, I began to appreciate this release, (no pun intended), more. The album features some great classics that cannot be ignored, especially "Green Is the Colour", "Cymballine", and "Cirrus Minor". All three are some of my favorite songs ever produced from the band. Some people can't stand this Floyd album, but there are some out there that love this album the most from their catalog, mainly because it is quite experimental and avant garde. Sure, it isn't as deep, as layered, or as popular as the 70's efforts from the band, but this was a pure experiment that most bands couldn't pull off, even if they tried. This also happens to be the last album until '87's 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason', that would feature David Gilmour singing lead for all the tracks. I still haven't seen this movie, but wouldn't mind checking it out someday. I know the soundtrack really well. "Green is the colour of her kind. Quickness of the eye deceives the mind. Envy is the bond between the hopeful and the damned."
32) James-"Sayonara"  From the CD 'Wah-Wah'.
