In late 1988, I was introduced to The Smiths, not too many days after they broke up. I loved the music, but I remember being pretty upset that I didn't hear of them until after they were basically done. To make a long story short, the experience pretty much led directly to why I make it a priority to try to find new music. Tonight's compilation album was the first album I bought from The Smiths. I'm surprised the CD still plays without skips. I played the hell out of it then. I don't play too many compilations, but this is certainly one of my favorite compilations. Pretty much my introduction to Peel Sessions as well. Another one I'm surprised I haven't played before "Hand it over, hand it over, hand it over."
