Unknown for most of his career in the United States. William Onyeabor was a great writer, performer, and producer of Nigerian funk and R&B in the late 70's through the early 80's. This week he passed away at the age of 70. He said a few years back in a rare interview with the BBC that he was working on new music after leaving the music business to be a leader of industry in Nigeria.
