After I found 4AD records through the first Pixies releases, this was the second band I remember finding by the great record label. I quickly learned that This Mortal Coil was basically a wonderfully original collective showcasing some of the great artists of the 4AD label, and it became my introduction to the work of Cocteau Twins, and Dead Can Dance. Two incredibly influential bands, and the later being one of the best live concerts I've ever seen. It was nice to see DCD perform the incredibly beautiful Tim Buckley composition "Song of the Siren" live in concert. It was something special indeed. Sadly, I've never seen Cocteau Twins live, but it was nice to see Elizabeth Fraser perform with Massive Attack at ACL Festival a few years back. Elizabeth's version of the "Song of the Siren" on this record is most likely my favorite version of the now legendary song. It'll End in Tears" is a wonderful album of mood and atmosphere, and I'm surprised it took me this long to play it. "Let me enfold you. Here I am. Here I am, waiting to hold you" - Michael - MFL
