After a long long wait, it appears I will be witnessing the greatness of Michael Nesmith live in concert for a second time the evening that I write these comments. I was lucky enough to see him with The Monkees back in 2013. I do believe that might have been the only time Nesmith has played in Austin with The Monkees. Tonight's show is with the First National Band, and it since this band hasn't toured since 1978, it has been at least that long since Nesmith has played in Austin with this band. Maybe the first time ever. Considering the country rock nature of their sound, I suspect that it is not the first time they played in Austin, but it has certainly been a while. Looking forward to once again seeing one of my all-time favorite songwriters and performers live. Thanks to Ross for getting me a ticket in. "Standing in the lonely light of the silver moon.
