32) "The Mid-Morning Recording"       Chomsky-'A Few Possible Selections for the Soundtrack of Your Life'
Twenty years ago this week, the Dallas band Chomsky released their album 'A Few Possible Selection for the Soundtrack of Your Life', and a copy of it landed into my hands via my friend Bart Koch only a month after it was released. He told me that they would be my "new favorite band", and he was right. I listened to this album so much at the beginning of the 2000's. It was my favorite album of 1999, and it was certainly the soundtrack of my life as I drove a few thousand miles in late 2000 on three long road trips. I believe this is only the second or third album to be repeated in the history of the MMR. I first played the album in June of 2001, and I repeated it this week to celebrate its 20th anniversary, but also because Chomsky is playing a one off reunion show next weekend in Dallas to celebrate. Since I most likely won't make it up to Dallas for the event, I wanted to pay tribute to one of my all-time favorite acts from Texas. They are such a fun band, live and on record. They made such a great album, and it is worthy of celebrating. I was happy to have found them, and end the 20th century with their music on repeat. Twenty years on, it still features selections that are the soundtrack of my life. "So, let's begin two steps away from anything. It's out or in, two steps away, then up again." - Michael - MFL
