What can I say? I saw The Muppet Movie in the theater nine times back in the day. The work of Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Richard Hunt, Dave Goelz, Jerry Nelson, and the whole Muppet team remains to be a super huge influence on me and the show of Music For Listeners for a start. Of course it was no surprise when I found out that Orly also had the vinyl record back in the day. It seems perfect to kick off the month of August 2019, MFL's 20th anniversary month, with a celebration of the 40th anniversary of "The Muppet Movie". An incredible feat of movie making that was apparently one of the hardest of the Muppet films to be made. It would be years before another person who wasn't a Muppet performer directed a Muppet film. The music is perfect, and the movie itself is pretty dang perfect! I wish the soundtrack had Charles Durning singing his little Doc Hopper theme song though. It's pretty perfect still though.
