32) "The-Mid-Morning Recording"      Jeff Beck-'Truth'
Sadly another tribute for an album for this week's MMR. The world lost guitarist Jeff Beck this past week at the age of 78. Considered to be one of the greatest guitarists ever, he would straddle the line between blues, rock, and jazz. So many bands wanted him to be their guitarist, but he rarely played outside of his own bands throughout his career. I thought I would start at the beginning with his first solo album, released in 1968. The album features some of Rod Stewart's first vocal recordings, along with Ronnie Wood on bass, pre Rolling Stones. Even friends Keith Moon, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones take part on a few cuts. Heavy blues rock for 1968, the same year Led Zeppelin released their first album. Moving UK rock towards the heavier side of fast drums and overdriven guitar licks. Always ahead of the pack as one of the first fusion albums blending rock with blues, jazz, and even classical on his first album out of the gate. Rest in Peace Jeff Beck (1944-2023) - Michael - MFL
33) James-"Sayonara" From the album 'Wah-Wah'.
