A little over a decade ago there was a band who formed under the name Palma Violets. They put out two albums, and toured for five years straight. In 2018 they amicably split as a band. Three of the members of that band would join Celia Archer of The Big Moon to form this one. Their first singles were amazing. Simply amazing. I really was looking forward to a proper full length from the band, and in the summer of 2022, this debut album from them was released. While I did listen to the album digitally for a long while, it wasn't until recently that I finally bought a copy of the album. This has led me to listen to the album even more. I thought I'd play it on this show, not only because it is a stellar debut release, and really great to listen to as an album. It's really because I just acquired a copy of it to play. Import vinyl and CD's aren't cheap these days, and I just couldn't afford to pay over $50 for the album. I did find it a bit cheaper than that, and I'm glad I could get it on the airwaves in its entirety, as it was meant to be heard. I hope a few unsuspecting listeners found it for the first time. Being an older person than these artists are, and as much as I liked the work Palma Violets, this material is much more haunting and mature, and much more to my liking for repeat listens. I can't wait to hear their next works. "It's a new beginning. No longer shall I be in emptiness to rust. But who am I to be ?" - Michael - MFL
30) James-"Sayonara" From the album 'Wah-Wah'.
