34) "The Mid-Morning Recording"         Hamish Hawk-'Angel Numbers'
I saw a lot of great bands perform this year. They are all memorable for sure, but after waiting a couple of years, I finally got to see Hamish Hawk perform this past March. Luckily it was in a small intimate Austin club during SXSW. Certainly one of the most engaging front men to come along in a long time. He is such a talented songwriter to start, and such a wonderful singer and performer on stage. 'Angel Numbers' was easily my most listened to album of 2023. Not a doubt. There is not a bad song on the album, with one well crafted song after another. Shades of The Smiths, Pulp, Scott Walker, Leonard Cohen, and even the risen king, Elvis Presley. I cannot wait to hear his next album, and see him live once again. "Just one yawn from the crowd, and the sun went down behind the clouds. And I put it down, to the clown with the frown, doing the sound." - Michael - MFL
35) James-"Sayonara" From the album 'Wah-Wah'.
