Hello listeners and fellow party patrons…

As you may know, Music For Listeners is going into its 23rd year on the radio in San Antonio, and we are gearing up to return to Austin in just a couple of weeks for our 12th round of Daytime Parties. Once again returning to Lazarus Brewing on East 6th Street, March 15-19, 2022. We feel we have put together one of the best lineups that we have ever done. It is stacked, and once again features talent from all over the world! We even extended our parties, adding an extra day on Tuesday to get even more artists featured. This means more amazing talent, but it also means more costs into everything involved with throwing the parties.

We have always had great support from our venues, from The Red House Pizzeria, to Flat Top, El Sapo, and now Lazarus Brewing. Like all businesses during the past two years, Lazarus is trying to recoup losses. They have graciously given us a place for the parties once again, and we thank them for their generosity in keeping the budget pretty much the same as it was in 2020, when we had to pull the event. To keep the costs lower for our venues, we have always left certain things out of the budget, and looked elsewhere for fill in those needs. Music For Listeners is not a profit-making venture. It is a radio show that throws parties every March.

For past events, our crews have either stayed with friends, or even driven back and forth from San Antonio to Austin each day to keep hotel costs lower. When we stayed in hotel rooms, it was out of our own pockets. This year, we have decided that for the parties to continue at this level, we need to safely house our crew, and make sure we have the equipment needed to bring it to you. These costs have become too much for our team to manage. For the first time, we are asking our listeners and party patrons to donate to the cause, while we continue to work hard to put on the event. $5, $10, $20, $100 - Any amount you can give is welcome. We ask you to keep in your thoughts about the programs you’ve heard, or the artists you’ve seen through us over the years. We are trying to raise $3000 in thirty days to cover these extra costs.
