32) "The Mid-Morning Recording" The Velvet Underground and Nico-'The Velvet Underground and Nico'
Obviously Lou Reed is a huge influence on the direction of Rock and Roll as an artform as well as a musician. The style of his first band, the imagery one thinks of when they hear the words The Velvet Underground. Andy Warhol immediately comes to mind of course, along with the legendary recordings we have to listen to. We could have picked many an album to play in tribute to Lou, (really any album he made or even influenced from the past five decades), but we decided to go back to the start of it all. There is nothing I can't say here about Lou that the wonderful Laurie Anderson didn't convey already, but I can say rest in peace Mr Reed. You will be missed, and your music will live on for many lifetimes to come. "Sunday morning, praise the dawning. It's just a restless feeling by my side." - Michael - MFL
