33) "The Mid-Morning Recording" Bob Mould-'Workbook'
Because Bob is playing SXSW once again, and because his debut solo album is celebrating a 25th anniversary, I thought I would play it as the MMR tonight! I had heard a couple of Husker Du tunes before this album was released, but this was the first album from Mould that I heard all the way through. From the start of the album, one can hear Bob changing gears. With Husker Du, there was a grinding guitar sound, but 'Workbook' starts with the acoustic sound. This album was so impressive for me, that I put Bob on my bucket list. March 1990, was my first trip to SXSW, and Bob played an amazing acoustic set. I've since seen him four times including once with the band Sugar. Bob is a good ticket anytime, and he seems to really love SXSW! This is the first album "Leaves are changing seasons of my poison years." - Michael - MFL
