31) "The Mid-Morning Recording" Margo Price-'Midwest Farmer's Daughter'
This week of "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee", there was a story about how country radio has been ignoring the women of country music on their airwaves. I know that we are "country radio" per se, but being that we have such freedom to play various genres on our broadcast, I thought it would be proper to play the debut release from one of our favorite country singers out there today. It took Margo Price a good while to get this album out, and after shopping labels in Nashville, the great Jack White saw the talent in Margo, and first released her albums to the world. This album is certainly one of my favorite country albums of the century so far, and it certainly deserves to be heard more, and given more radio play. Outlaw country is alive and well, and Margo is one of those artists that will fight for her craft. She is a sweet woman who I've had the pleasure of talking with a few times now, and she is certainly one to play the best "shit-kickin'" country atrists out there today. An American treasure who should be treasured. "Let's go back to Tennessee. You and me!" - Michael - MFL
