This week would have been Kirsty Maccoll's sixty-sixth birthday. I noticed that I hadn't played her final album as a MMR before, and being that I recently found a CD copy, I thought it was as good of a time as any to feature it. She was a special performer, and her final album showcases her Cuban and Latin American influences. The album features one of her masterpieces, the song 'In These Shoes', who the great Bette Midler would later cover. The world is a better place because Kirsty was here, but she is incredibly missed. "In these shoes? No way, Jose. I said, 'Honey, let's do it, here'".
